Curriculum

BALLET – A classical dance form focusing on technique and fluidity of movement.

TAP – A dance in which rhythm or rhythmical variation is audibly tapped out with the toe or heel.

JAZZ – An energetic and fun dance form, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns while still focusing on proper technique.

LYRICAL – A dance style that blends ballet and jazz dance. A lyrical dancer uses movement to tell a specific story or express certain emotions.

MUSICAL THEATRE – A dance form that uses jazz technique to create a “Broadway” style of dance introducing dancers to music and dialogue from different plays/productions.

ACRO – Acrobatics adds a layer of gymnastic technical skill on top of dance skills performing various tumbling stunts. Acro classes are divided by a level system according to what stunts a dancer is capable of doing technically correct.

POINTE – This class is for the more advanced ballet dancer who has already mastered the basic technique of ballet class. Dancers must be asked by the director to join this class. The appropriate strength and maturity is crucial when transitioning a dancer from ballet slippers to pointe shoes.
